In Minnesota (and several other states) since covid they have a new “Earned Sick & Safe Leave” policy where an employee’s LEGAL hours (cleaning + drive time) need to be tracked so they can properly accrue their Earned Sick & Safe Leave hours. (Plus we’d need to prove in an audit what their legal hours are anyway). It would be AMAZING if ZenMaid could have a “general time clock” that runs alongside the Job ticket hour time clock. My crew swings by our storage unit whenever they need to (we don’t schedule it) so technically that would be their first job of the day and it should start their LEGAL time accrual, but of course they wouldn’t check in on ZenMaid bc it’s not an actual scheduled appointment for them. Workarounds I’ve already tried & don’t like: (1) I’ve tried putting the storage unit on the schedule every day as an appointment and having them clock into it ONLY if they stop there, but then it confuses them & messes up my JTH count and it’s just a pain in the butt for other reasons too. (2) I’ve tried creating a “day tracker” appointment, scheduling it for every day & assigning all the techs working that day and having them clock in and out of that “job” in addition to their real jobs, but then on payroll it shows they worked twice as many hours that week (80 hrs instead of 40). Also messes with appointment count and JTH count. Super annoying. (3) We’re currently using quickbooks to clock in at the beginning of the day and clock out at the end of the day but I’d love to integrate this with ZenMaid instead. Accurately tracking LEGAL hours worked & being able to provide documented evidence of legal hours worked is CRUCIAL to all business owners.
